Do what you can


Finally. 

I finally convinced myself to post in the blog again. Now let me be clear, it was never far from my mind. It's actually pretty sad when I think about. That something that was always high on my list of desires to fulfill a creative need always had multiple mental road blocks. This week's "I have no time" excuse morphed into a much more rational " I do have time, I am simply choosing to allocate my time elsewhere and other things are a higher priority than my blog" excuse the following week. I pride myself on being rational and self-aware, and that didn't stop me from knowing I was simply making excuses, however rational they may be.

Rationality and excuse making aside, here I am. Like the image above says, I plan to do what I can what what I have where I am right now. I come back with the intentions to post twice a week. A modest, yet achievable goal that would currently surpass my posting statistics for the past several years by a whopping 200%. Go me!

Like in any good relationship, dear reader, I am going to make you some promises that I intend to keep. I promise to always write from the heart (even if I happen to be talking about my latest thrifty fashion finds), and I promise to always try to improve. For me, personally, improving means working on my understanding of photography and taking better photos (bare with me on this one), and writing down my darn recipes. I am a "pinch of this, dash of that" kind of cook, which makes my recipes incredibly hard to follow (much to my friends' and family's dismay).

I plan on chatting about lifestyle, balancing life/work/family, style and makeup tips, with some ramblings thrown in. The first post I ever wrote for this blog still rings true, I am always trying to choose three, and I find everyone else is too, so let's make it a point to chat about it weekly and share our tips and experiences with each other, shall we?
